Who Is Sparky?
My name is Lisa.
Lots of females my age are named Lisa. It was the most popular baby name the year I was born. The year before, too. And the year after. In fact, the name Lisa was on the top ten list of baby names for twelve years straight. There’s nothing uncommon about my name, that’s for sure.
And my life? I’m a wife, a mom, an artist, a Jesus Freak, a cook, a referee of living room fights, a scrubber of mystery stains, a nail polish enthusiast, a despiser of black walnuts and cilantro, a math dork, a lover of fiery hot spicy foods, an introvert who’s easily bored, a freedom fighter, a reader and a writer, a remover of splinters, and an avid taker of naps. The stuff daily life is made of. Nothing all that uncommon, at least in the individual elements.
And yet…there’s only one me, and I’ve found over the years that I don’t exactly see life in a common manner, and I usually don’t talk about it in common ways.
So my name is Lisa. This is my blog. We’ll talk about whatever it’s time to talk about.
And it’s always time for something!
So, you like spicy food? In that case, are you coming to Ladies Night this Saturday? Thai food, baby. I wanna see you sweat.
I wonder how hot something would have to be to make me sweat?
let me ask you….just how can you hate cilantro…shame on you!!!!
I want to like cilantro. I really do. I have set my will to like cilantro, but my taste buds trump my will every time on this one. If anyone knows any tips on how to get yourself to love something you hate, toss them my way!
For cilantro, it must, must, MUST be completely masked by salsa. Where habaneros and cilantro meet and ketchup and garlic mask and tomatoes and onions UNITE! :0) You should give it a try.
I love your site. Keep it up !
Haha…no, you can’t mask the taste of Cilantro…in fact, you have to put Cilantro in Salsa….in hamburgers…in Fiesta Chicken Soup….in….well, you get the idea! The more the better!! Then add some Cumin…a little piece of heaven!!
Ugh…cumin. The other seasoning I don’t like! I can take small amounts of it, but once it becomes a predominant flavor, YUCK!
Ahhhhhh….says Vicky as she passes out in disbelief on the floor… Cumin, Lisa, Lisa, Lisa! I spose you don’t like Curry either…. {{No way}}
I’m very picky about curry. Alan makes a killer good seafood curry that I would nearly sell a kid for, but I’ve not had a lot of other curries I like.
As you can imagine, I am not wild about Indian cuisine.
Hi, nice to meet you !
acrylic nail polish are the best stuff that you can use when polishing your nails,~,

I truly enjoy looking through on this website , it holds fantastic blog posts.
I really enjoy your site!
Hi Lisa, I wanted you to know that nominated you for the Liebster Award! To find out more about that, you can see my upcoming post (11.1.13) when it gets published. You don’t have to accept it, but either way, I wanted to bless you and that, by doing so, more people will see what you have to say. :)
Mel
Mel, thank you! It’s both humbling and flattering that you’d acknowledge Hey Sparky in this way. It will take me a couple of days before I can figure out if I can really accept it, mostly because I constantly seem to be hurting for time and am not sure I have the minutes or the focus to reciprocate right now. But no matter what, I really appreciate the encouragement of the nomination!
No problem. It does take some time. And even if you don’t have the time, I’m glad it encourages you and I hope it brings people to your blog. :)
Hey Lisa. I’d like to know if you would be a guest contributor for me in the upcoming holiday season. Contact me using the “Contact” link on my blog. If so, I’ll send you what I’ve got planned. Cheers!
Hi Lisa. I nominated your blog for the Versatile Blogger Award. Not sure if you participate in things like this, but I’m happy to introduce others to your blog. It’ll be featured in my 12/12 post. Cheers!
came to visit through Priceless Joy’s blog :) – look forward to following along and getting to know you, Lisa.
So glad you’re here! Feel free to poke through the archives a bit to see what sort of rabbit hole you’ve fallen down! :)
Great intro, but- you don’t like cilantro? REALLY?!?!?! ;)
Hahaha! I REALLY don’t like cilantro! Research has shown that there is a percentage of the population (about 15%) who have a gene that causes them to perceive cilantro as a soapy taste. When I read that I felt so surprised and finally vindicated, because for years I’d been saying that cilantro tasted like soap to me! I’d actually like to like it because it’s a trendy herb and you find it lurking in a lot of dishes these days. Alas…even if there’s only a tiny amount in a dish, I can taste it, and it’s very unpleasant.
Lisa, you are such a wonderful inspiration to me I have nominated you for a Blogger Recognition Award.
Here’s the post: https://shinymusings.wordpress.com/2015/09/09/blogger-recognition-award/
Aww…you bless me! While I don’t have time to do all the things one is supposed to do if one accepts this award, it still makes me feel good that you’d remember me in the middle of this drought season of blogging. It’s very encouraging! Thank you!
I miss you but hopefully you are being a blessing wherever you are x
