When the picky eater is away…

August 1, 2013

This morning I dropped off the Sparkette so that she could travel to Birmingham with her old youth group to go to the Motion Student Conference.  We will miss her around the house, but we figured it was a good time to plan some meals that consist of foods she doesn’t want to eat.  That usually means something spicy hot or something that originally lived in the water.

So tonight we had hot dogs off the grill (she once threw up hot dogs and has never really wanted them again), and Chipotle Sweet Potato french fries (too spicy), along with some raw veggies and a cous cous salad.

Our objective was accomplished.

Who knew we’d one day have to get the kids out of the house in order to eat hot dogs?

I feel her pain. I once threw up hot dogs and haven’t eaten them since… it’s been 9 years. Sometimes they look and smell good, but I just can’t make myself eat one.

Hot dogs originally lived in water?! ;-)

So hear you on this. The boy was just gone for two weeks, and I ate butternut squash soup for an entire week, because I enjoy it so much but never get to eat it when he’s here. Glad to know I’m not the only one who plans meals like this.
