With my own two hands

September 4, 2014

There are a lot of things in this world that I can’t do anything about, things that bring sadness and pain.

The reality is that a good number of them I wouldn’t know how to handle even if I did have the power to do something about them.

But then there are the things I can do.  I am not responsible for what I can’t do.  I’m responsible for what I can do.

You too.

Some of what we can do is pretty darn simple.

We can treat the people who serve us with honor and appreciation.  It’s not about how good of a job they did.  It’s about who we are.

We can momentarily connect with just about anyone by genuinely smiling at them.

We can speak blessing and life.  People are dying to hear that they have a nice smile, that their voice has a soothing tone, that they have great taste in shoes, that their kids are cute.

We can believe the best about others, even when it costs us to do so.

We push the sphere of light around us out further and further as we learn to walk in Kingdom realities, making our corner of the world a brighter, more hopeful, more joyful place.  We do this with intent to be contagious.

His love is very contagious.  And His joy?  Practically viral.

Let’s go infect someone, what say?

Jip, change what you can and ask God to help you cope with the things you can’t. Thanks for an inspiring post!
