Naked at Grand Central

January 8, 2015

“I have it contained,”

he said,

and as we watched him

inhale and

expand into his skin

it seemed that it was true.

But that was before

his heart was stolen

and he lost his car keys

and the mate to

his favorite pairs of socks

It is a solemn thing,

the systematic stripping away

of the defining secrets of one’s you-ness,

the dissolution of the glue

that has,

up until now,

kept us from publicly

unzipping in the train station

and buying a ticket for Mars.

Wonderful Lisa! You and I have a friend that lives in Mars. :) (Mars, PA)

Indeed! Keeping up with Sparky’s Blog Challenge means I don’t often pick up other blogs to follow simply because the Challenge already has a lot of bloggers, but I sure like our Martian! I’m really enjoying her blog!

I must have missed your Challenge. What is it?

        • January 9, 2015 2:18 pm

Oh, its been going on for ages. WordPress picked it up sometime last year, I think. Most of us use a Facebook group to connect and post, but a few people out there just do it. The idea is to build consistency in posting, so we commit to the challenge one week at a time, aiming to post every day during that week. A post should consist of a minimum of three sentences, or one photo and one sentence (more is fine). We have a fun little group. :)

People join us all the time. Let me know if youd like to join. :)

Okay, I would like to see the instructions first or find out more about it. Do you have a link to it???

            • January 9, 2015 8:13 pm

Yes! Here you go: . If you want to join us and you have a Facebook, the best way to keep up and have some community and encouragement is to ask to join the group. We’d love to have you!

Thanks Lisa! I appreciate it. I only use my Facebook for my kids and grandkids. Is that a problem not to use Facebook?

                • January 9, 2015 9:03 pm

No. Anyone can do it, Facebook or not. But should you decide to use the FB group, your activity would only be seen by the group because it’s a closed group…you have to ask to be added, and only members can see what you post. You could post links to your daily posts in there, as well as see what others are posting. And occasionally, like this week, the group does something a little different. This week we’re doing One Word Prompts, where I give just one word and everyone uses that word to inspire their posts. We “like”, comment, and encourage one another. If you don’t use the group, you kinda miss out on all the really good stuff we’ve discovered on our Blog Challenge journey. But if it helps you be consistent, then it’s still doing its job!

That sounds fun. I’ll go back to your comment for the url. Thanks!

                • January 9, 2015 9:17 pm

My comment will give you the url for the original post. If you’d like to try out the FB group (there’s nothing saying you can’t try it and drop it if you don’t like it), then just search for Sparky’s Blog Challenge on FB and ask to be added. It will notify me, and I’ll add you. If you want to just try it on your own, let me know how it works for you and it if helps you be more consistent to have small achievable goals on a daily basis. :)

                  Okay! Thanks Lisa!
